Visiting Norman Park Kindy
Our educators' primary focus during the kindergarten day is being present with children, so we do not offer individual tours while the program is operating.
Prospective families are warmly invited to visit Norman Park Kindy at our annual Open Day, held in May each year. This is the best opportunity to explore our environment, meet staff, learn more about our philosophy and ask questions before enrolment offers are made.
Families who are offered and accept an enrolment place will also have several opportunities to become familiar with the kindergarten through our orientation journey, including family information events, teacher interviews and Orientation Play before the kindergarten year begins.
We believe this approach allows prospective and incoming families to experience the kindy meaningfully while protecting the uninterrupted time, relationships and learning of the children who are already here.
What happens after you enrol?
Accepting an enrolment offer is the beginning of your family's relationship with Norman Park Kindy.
Over the months before children begin, we gradually share the information families need through our Family Journey.
This approach allows families to become familiar with the kindergarten, meet our staff, learn about our community model and prepare children for their first day without being overwhelmed with information all at once.
Once your place has been accepted, we'll let you know what happens next.
Kindergarten is the beginning of a partnership
We believe the strongest kindergarten experiences develop when children, families and educators know one another and work together.
We therefore encourage families considering Norman Park to explore this website, learn about our philosophy and community model, and ask any questions you may have.
We want you to choose Norman Park not simply because a place is available, but because our approach to childhood, learning and community feels right for your family.
