Our Parent Management Committee
As a not-for-profit, community-managed kindergarten, Norman Park Kindy is governed by a volunteer Parent Management Committee, elected from our family community each year.
The Parent Management Committee is our kindergarten's Approved Provider and holds an important governance responsibility for the operation of the service. Having families willing to take on these roles is therefore an essential part of our community-kindergarten model and enables Norman Park Kindy to continue operating for current and future children.
The committee works in partnership with our staff, respecting the professional responsibilities of our teachers and educators while providing governance, oversight and support for the kindergarten as a whole.
Committee involvement gives families an opportunity to contribute their skills and perspectives, learn more about how a community kindergarten operates and help care for the future of a place their child belongs to.
Our new committee is elected each year at our Annual General Meeting, and incoming families are encouraged to consider whether a committee role might be one of the ways they contribute to our community.
Detailed information about committee roles, responsibilities and the support available is shared with families during the orientation journey before the AGM.
