A Community Kindergarten
Norman Park is a community-managed, not-for-profit kindergarten.
This means our kindergarten is supported and governed by a volunteer Parent Management Committee, working in partnership with our staff and Lady Gowrie Queensland.
Community participation is an important part of belonging at Norman Park.
Families bring different skills, interests, cultures, experiences and amounts of available time, so participation will look different for everyone. Throughout the year there are many ways families can contribute—from joining the Parent Management Committee or helping at a working bee or fundraiser, to supporting community events, sharing skills or knowledge, helping with everyday kindergarten tasks, or simply lending a hand when they can.
We encourage every family to find a way to participate that works for them.
These contributions do more than help our kindergarten operate. When children see their families participating in kindergarten life, they experience a powerful connection between home, kindy and community.
Why this matters
We believe belonging is strengthened through participation.
Community kindergarten gives families the opportunity not simply to attend a service, but to help shape and care for a place that belongs to all of us.

Thank you to the Jagera people, you made the land good. Now it's our turn to look after the grass, trees, flowers and air.
We need to show to the Jagera people that we are keeping the land clean for ourselves and them.

Thank you to the Jagera people for looking after the land for us, before we were born. For taking care of this land and growing our land.
We will help and be kind and nice to the people, the animals, the birds, the bugs, the trees and plants and sun.
Thank you for our country, thank you for our world.
