Enrolment Process

To be eligible for an enrolment offer your child must be on a waiting list. Offers of enrolment occur mid-year (and are sent via email) the year prior to your child’s attendance at kindergarten (eg: mid-2023 [usually end of May/early June] for kindergarten attendance in 2024). Please ensure your contact details are up-to-date and contact the office if you need to amend your email address or telephone number.

During Term 2 each year teachers discuss with families and the service manager / admin team about children who may stay for a second kindy year. Places are reserved for these children prior to the first round of enrolment offers being made. These families are given until the end of Term 3 to confirm or decline.

 

After the annual Open Day enrolment offers are sent via email to families in order placed on the waiting list. Please check with us if you believe your email address may have changed since putting your child on the waiting list.

 

Families are given a strict deadline to respond to the email enrolment offer. An online form MUST be completed together with the payment of the non-refundable $100 enrolment fee and $100 association membership fee (total $200) within the specified deadline.

 

If there is no response and/or no payment by specified deadline, we assume you are declining and will move on to the next family on the waiting list. The waiting list is very popular, so there will be no extension to deadlines in the interests of fairness to all families seeking enrolment opportunities.

 

Preference of group will be given as per order of the waiting list and as per availability at time of enrolment offer.

 

If your preferred option is not available you may:
1.) Accept enrolment in the alternative group; pay the enrolment fee and request to be swapped to your first preference, should vacancies arise at a later date. We cannot guarantee an opportunity to swap to your first preference will occur. Or
2.) Stay on the waiting list in your current position in the hope vacancies might arise in your choice of group at a later date. We cannot guarantee vacancies will arise.

 

After completion of the acceptance form and payment is made, kindy will email you final confirmation with a request for further information and another online ‘enrolment confirmation’ form.

 

There will be additional online paperwork requirements towards the end of the year as part of the enrolment and orientation process. While these may seem onerous, they are mandatory for families as part of the Queensland Government’s Kindergarten Funding requirements.

 

Deferment of enrolment: if you do not receive an enrolment offer for your year of eligible kindy or you choose not to accept enrolment you may request to be deferred to the following year’s waiting list. This is only if your child still falls within the eligible age permitted. Requests need to be made in writing via email. It will not occur automatically. Your place on the waiting list for the following year will be at the same date as you entered the initial waiting list.
