About Norman Park Community Kindergarten

Norman Park Community Kindergarten is a not-for-profit kindergarten managed by a committee of parents who support our high educator to child ratios of one teacher and two educators to 25 children.

Our community kindergarten is affiliated with The Lady Gowrie, who support us as our Central Governing Body.

Our natural kindy grounds are extensive on 1882m² of land and as we are a one unit centre, there are only ever 25 children on site.

Our philosophy views children as capable, competent and eager to learn. We foster children’s learning and development through our child led, play based open indoor outdoor curriculum.

Program hours

Kookaburras - 3 days every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 8.30am to 2.30pm; OR

Lorikeets - 2 longer days every Thursday and Friday from 8am to 3.30pm.

A Kindy Club program is available for families in our kindy community. This is a separate service providing before and after kindy care from 7.30am to 8.30am and 2.30pm to 4.30pm for the Kookaburras group and from 3.30pm to 5pm for the Lorikeets group.

We have been rated as 'Exceeding' under the National Quality Framework and we continue to deliver exceptional programs for children in this community.

Acknowledgment to Country: Kookaburras group

Thank you to the Jagera people, you made the land good. Now it's our turn to look after the grass, trees, flowers and air.
We need to show to the Jagera people that we are keeping the land clean for ourselves and them.

Acknowledgement to Country: Lorikeets group

Thank you to the Jagera people for looking after the land for us, before we were born. For taking care of this land and growing our land.

We will help and be kind and nice to the people, the animals, the birds, the bugs, the trees and plants and sun.

Thank you for our country, thank you for our world.
